Guidelines

Teaching and Learning

We teach a German-speaking student body of various nationalities and achieve the necessary competencies for our students to make a successful transition to further education in German-speaking schools. Our philosophy of teaching aims to achieve lasting educational success, based upon professional preparation, implementation and evaluation of the teaching process. We offer our students a motivating, realistic and future-oriented learning environment, developed in accordance with the Swiss curriculum. We encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning and we support the developing independence of each child. By personal example and subject specific knowledge, we act as facilitators to each child, according to his/her strengths and weaknesses.

School and Classroom

The familiar character of our school, with facilities for day-scholars and boarders, ensures a level of care appropriate to the needs of the children. Our multicultural student body, in composite classes of different year levels, engenders due respect and tolerance and we thus strive for a positive atmosphere within the school community. We encourage students to develop their social skills in the often competing fields of group and individual, and of rights and responsibilities. School events and diverse extra-curricular activities throughout the year complement our programme of learning.
